Boomerang wings way to pioneer fame

THE ingenuity of the first Australians was recognised last weekend at the inaugural Australian Aviation Hall of Fame Awards, with a special recognition award for inventing the boomerang.

The award to indigenous Australians recognised the design and practical use of the aerofoil in the traditional throwing stick and was one of the surprises in the gala night at Charles Sturt University in Wagga Wagga.
